Sewing stuff.

I haven't sewn anything in over a week, which is mildly depressing, but it's pretty tough to sew when you aren't doing much but laying in bed with your granny's homemade quilt!  However, being on back-pain-induced bed rest does leave a lot of time for one thing:  daydreaming.  And my daydreams have consistently consisted of what I'm going to do when I can sit at my sewing table once again!

It seems like we just finished Me-Made-March, and look what's back!

Same concept, less alliterative.  Yes, for the entire month of June, I will once again be wearing only clothes that I have made myself!  Here's my pledge to prove it:

I, Valerie of threadsthoughtsthing.blogspot.com, sign up as a participant of Me-Made-June '11. I endeavour to wear only Me-Made garments each day for the duration of June 2011.

Want to try it?  Sign up here on Zoe's blog.  You can create your own challenge for yourself - one me-made garment a day, for instance, is a great starting point!

And while I was feeling sorry for myself and my poor back, look what Forrest Nicole at Presser Foot Propaganda (who lives in Texas and has a real sassy sense of style - go check her out!) gifted me!
I don't know what a liebster is, but it sort of sounds British, doesn't it?  Anyway, the story behind the award is that it is for blogs with less than 300 followers, to provide a little encouragement and let them know they have a place in the sew-isphere!  Thanks for making me feel special, Forrest Nicole :)  (also, read Hunger Games - your mom is right)

And lastly, look what I found!
Floral Print Skirt from Zara

Does anyone else think this looks uncannily similar to the Ribbon Skirt I made two weeks ago?!  And mine only cost me $7 to make (+ 1.5 hours of my life), instead of $39.90.  #winning!
