One year ago today, I launched my Etsy shop, Dottie Adele!
38 treasury features, 24 heart skirts, 20 turban headbands, 11 dolman sleeve dresses, and many, many other skirts, dresses, and tops later...I'm still super thrilled to have all these designs and this little internet space to call my own.
Occasions like one-year anniversaries always call for a celebration, right? So, let's celebrate!
For the entire month of August, please use the coupon code 1YEAR to receive 15% off on all items in the shop, as a simple "thank you" for your support of my little sewing endeavor! (If I'm doing the math right, that makes allll the turban headbands a mere $10.20!)
Should we do a giveaway, too? Yes, let's do a giveaway!
Simply leave a comment (and please be sure you either leave your e-mail address or you have it linked in your profile) to be eligible to win a free Heart-Shaped Waistband Skirt, made to your measurements, and in any color you want! This skirt is by far my most popular design to date, and a great all-year-round piece to have in your closet. Winner will be chosen one week from today, August 15th, at midnight Eastern time.
Thank you again for all the support! I'm looking forward to, hopefully, many more anniversaries.
Yes, please! I love that skirt!

Hi Callie - thanks so much for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteAs for classes for beginning sewing: If you happen to live in NYC, I would love to give you some private lessons! :)
If not, I actually have been doing a Sewing 101 series over on the blog Shrimp Salad Circus! It is ongoing, but thus far we have covered basic sewing supplies, getting to know your sewing machine, and sewing a very basic, beginner skirt! You can find those posts here: http://www.shrimpsaladcircus.com/search/label/sewing%20101
And tomorrow's tutorial is actually a project with knits!
Also, feel free to e-mail me with questions any time - I love to talk sewing :)
Hi Valerie,
ReplyDeletenearly missed this great give-away... Would be a pity, because I really love your projects!
I was always too scared to sew clothes. Was convinced, that they will never fit and that it will be frustrating. So I kept one sewing bags, purses and similar stuff (which I really love to do!)
But finally I dried it! Started with an easy-looking burda pattern for a dress and a cheap yard of fabric (just in case...).
And yaeh, I made it and I really love it! It's fits pretty well and the fabric is so smooth and light... Just perfect for summer!
Thank you so much for inspiration!!!
Greetings, Anne
Val-
