The I Dream of Spring Skirt

Ah, spring.  I'm longing for it.  And in anticipation of its arrival, I had been picturing a cute little lightweight skirt.  So I decided to whip it up!

I dressed it down and I dressed it up:

I stuck my hands in my favorite little pockets:

And I got excited for the possibility of exposed legs on the horizon, just weeks away!

The Tie Scarf: Of Equestrians and Flight Attendants

 Oh, how creative I must get when I don't have a camera I understand how to use...

Today, I wore the Greta Tie Scarf from Colette Patterns that Kendra and I made together via Skype last weekend.  I built my entire outfit around it, just so I could wear it!  However, that also meant that I ended up feeling like a flight attendant on my top half and an equestrian on my bottom half (yes, those are my Intyce boots that just arrived - earlier than expected!).

Come fly the friendly skies!

I love the little pleated end on this scarf and I like the floral cotton print I chose to use.  I also loved the fact that it literally took about 30 minutes to make.  It's really more of a springtime scarf (WHICH WILL BE HERE IN SIX WEEKS!  THANKS, CHUCK!) because it's so light and small, but I think it turned out pretty cute.  Go check out Kendra's!

The Sister-Made Scarf

Maybe I need to add a new label called "Yarns."  Because my sister is crocheting all over the place!

I received this in the mail on Saturday and was immediately overcome with giddiness:

So then I tried to take some pictures of it with Scott's camera that I have no idea how to use (because I broke mine on Monday!).  One feature in particular that I don't know how to use is the timer.  Thus, here is what we got:

Merchandise of the Month - February

For a resolution of sorts for 2011,  you might remember that I challenged myself to buy only one store-bought item a month for the entire year.  I spent my January purchase on a pair of boots (that still haven't come in yet!).  I'm going to be honest and say I was basically dying for February to get here so I could buy something else.

In a genius move to use my monthly purchase on the most boring garment of all time, I present to you a white v-neck t-shirt:

The Every Rose Skirt

It sure is Monday...

Before 9:00 AM today, I dropped my camera on the ground and got a fatal error message.  Then I got lipstick on my brand new cowl scarf I made over the weekend (of which I would have liked to take some pictures)!  The day can only look up from there, right?!

So my poor little digital camera is down for the count, but I still have a webcam!  Fatal error messages cannot stop me!

This skirt can be henceforth known as my homage to Bret Michaels, who I adore.  I had to endure a few "thorns" this morning, but at least I still have this "rose" of a skirt to wear today!  HA!
